Initiation of the Collaboration with Comparative Research Networks

The ICPA-Forum has begun initiation of international research symposia. This effort promotes the dialogue on comparative policy analytic studies by facilitating research networks interested in collaborative comparative policy analysis research and/or dissemination of findings. Each individual symposium in the series may focus on comparative research reports on common subjects of interest, involve in investigating  and developing theoretical framework, finalize research design, further tool development, among others. The outcomes may be disseminated by publication of monographs, or a refereed Special Issue of the JCPA. The ICPA-Forum collaborates by co-organizing symposia and by leveraging its extensive network of international members.Dependent upon the nature of the program, institution partners provide the ICPA-Forum with resources to enable research collaboration at either the $7500 or $15000 level. This is in addition to Special Issue publication management fees ($1500.00 per issue) and institution membership fees at the gold or silver levels ($1000.00 or $500.00 per annum, respectively).

Collaboration with the Charles B. Rangel Center for Public Service

This collaboration identifies means and practices employed to advance students from underrepresented groups into public administration/policy/affairs/management training - in order to increase their involvement in public service and associated leadership positions. We are pleased to be collaborating with the School of Public Affairs, University of Colorado at Denver, the Goldman School of Public Policy , University of California - Berkeley, and the School of Public Affairs, Baruch College. In order to empirically identify the practices employed in recruiting, supporting, training, and graduating of students from underserved populations in various public policy, public management, public affairs, public administration and similar programs the following will be led by the SFU-based ICPA-Forum: (a) A survey will be administered NASPAA accredited Schools and Deans/Directors of public administration/policy/affairs/management programs; (b) Databases will be constructed surveying - Scholarly Articles, Books, and Reports; and (c) Associated peer reviewed presentations and publications proceedings at appropriate conferences will be sought.
