We are pleased to announce the winners of the 2009 ‘Best Comparative Paper Presented at an APPAM Research Conference’. The decision by the APPAM-ICPA-Forum Joint Adjudication Committee was unanimous:
“Economic Mobility, Family Background, and the Well-being of Childrenin the United States and Canada”
Miles Corak (Ottawa), Lori Curtis (Waterloo), and Shelley Phipps (Dalhousie)
The paper was first presented in November 2009 at the 31st APPAM Research Conference in Washington, D.C. The Award was presented to the authors at the 32nd APPAM Research Conference in Boston, MA in November 2010. ICPA-Forum held a reception honoring the authors. The paper was one of 23 comparative papers short listed. The JCPA Aims and Scope and its Six Criteria of comparative policy scholarship were used for the selection.
